Хлебни Къщи стартира като част от глобалната мрежа на Международния съвет за културни центрове (I3C). Първата Хлебна къща се роди като иновативен обществен културен център в град Габрово и прерасна в иновативно социално предприятие, обединяващо пространството на читалищен културен център и обществена пекарна, където хората се занимават с изкуство, докато хлябът се пече в традиционната пещ.

Мрежата обучава хора от България и цял свят чрез платформата „Хлебна терапия“, така че те прилагат модела на смесени платени и безплатни услуги в своите страни като социален франчайз модел. В програмите участват хора с увреждания, бежанци, малцинства, жертви на насилие.
